A customer comes in for a check-up and mentions dry, irritated eyes. His monthly lenses no longer feel comfortable. You examine his eyes, check the lens fit, and discover that his tear film has changed. Instead of standard lenses, you recommend a different type with better oxygen permeability. A week later he returns: “I can hardly feel them anymore—what a difference!”
As a contact lens specialist, you are more than an advisor. You thoroughly examine the eyes, analyse lens fitting, and make adjustments where necessary. You have in-depth knowledge of soft lenses, rigid lenses, orthokeratology (night lenses), and hybrid lenses—and you know exactly which materials suit different eye types. You stay up to date with the latest developments, follow specialist training programs, and help optician colleagues deepen their lens expertise.
As a contact lens specialist at Pearle, you always aim for the best result. You listen attentively to your customers, perform precise eye measurements, and look for the best solution for every eye. Your mission is to ensure every customer leaves feeling great—and with the right lenses.
For this position, you also bring:
• A certified Contact Lens Specialist diploma;
• A sharp sense for customer needs and sales opportunities;
• Plenty of patience and resilience—you understand that learning to insert and remove lenses is exciting for many people and takes practice;
• A command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written, at B1 level;
• A high degree of flexibility in availability due to our extended opening hours.
• A base salary starting at €2,916 increasing up to €4,756 per month based on a 38-hour workweek including holiday allowance, depending on your knowledge and experience. You’ll of course also have opportunities to grow internally in knowledge, experience, and salary if you have the ambition!
• A monthly bonus of up to 18%, based on 3 targets. The amount achievable depends on your salary and the goals reached;
• 25 vacation days based on a full-time contract;
• 2 care days which you may use, for example, on your birthday or a cultural (holiday) celebration;
• An excellent pension scheme, plus collective discounts on supplementary health insurance;
• The option to purchase products with tax benefits, such as a new (electric) bike, gym membership, contributions to sports fees, and healthy meals via Hello Fresh or Green Chef.
And… every year you may choose a free pair of (sun)glasses or contact lenses!
